Earth Retention
Earth retention is the practice of stabilizing soil and rock as a part of an excavation process. This process can be permanent or temporary in nature depending on the needs of the site and the project intent. A variation of piles, ground anchors, and reinforced concrete may be used to retain the excavation during construction; however, the system can also be designed to offset or resist the earth pressures.
Design/Build Retaining Walls
Oscar Orduno, Inc. offers a wide range of geotechnical construction techniques to construct new retaining walls, enhance existing walls, or repair retaining walls experiencing failure. Using soldier piles, ground anchors, geogrids, and reinforced concrete a variety of wall types and configurations are possible, even in locations where access is challenging, to meet budgets both grand and limited.
Slope Stability Systems
Oscar Orduno, Inc. can provide design/build services for slopes and embankments experiencing substantial erosion or slope creep as well as provide consultation services and cost analysis in the event of a slope failure.
Wall Remediation & Failure Repair
Retaining walls can fail for a number of reasons and is often unpredictable. However, noticeable movement or deformations in walls and their surroundings should be evaluated as soon as they are discovered before damages progress to the point the wall fails completely. Oscar Orduno Inc. can help with all aspects of wall remediation from evaluation, to design, and repair or even reconstruction.
Shotcrete Application
Shotcrete is a proven, cost effective, time saving alternative to cast-in-place concrete. We have a fleet of specialized shotcrete equipment and ACI certified nozzle men with the experience required to successfully perform shotcrete applications.
Underpinning & Specialty Foundations
Underpinning is the process of supplementing the foundation of an existing building or other structure to account for structural movement or new construction. Often the structures requiring additional support are adjacent to the proposed improvements and the ownership relationships are multifaceted and complex; these types of situations are successfully negotiated and executed with the help of an experienced team and flexibility in design and installation.
